How To Fill In The PMP Application Process

Have you decided to take the PMP certification? Yes? Great! We have your 35 required hours of project management education for a great price. So, what next? Fill out the application form meticulously and make sure you don't make any errors.


Navigating to the form

Getting certified with Project Management Institute is the best way to succeed as a project management professional. It's recommended that you first visit www.pmi.org and click on the ‘Certification’ option on the topmost bar. Then, click on the link, and under ‘Get Certified’ choose PMP®. Once you click on ‘Apply Now, you will be redirected to a page wherein you will have to enter your PMI account details. If you don't have an account, you can easily register for one.

You are now ready to start filling out the application form. The PMI gives you so many days within which you have to complete the form and submit it. If you don't submit it within this time period, you'll have to start from scratch again.

Contact and education details

You must be extra careful when filling out this form. Out of all the forms received by PMI, 20% are selected for audit purposes and in the event that you receive one, a minor mistake is all it takes to be rejected.

Update your contact details and make sure to enter the names of your degrees exactly how they are mentioned on your certificates. If audited, you will be required to prove that you earned the degrees by providing your degree certificates

Work experience

This section of the form can be complex and confusing, but usually, if you are organized and use the online application process well, it will go smoothly. There is a list of different requirements that correspond to different educational backgrounds. You need to fill out 35 hours' worth of training with Project Management before you can apply for this position.

Before you start filling out an experienced sheet, make sure you have the active contact numbers of all the project leads/mentors whose names need to be stated in the form. It is also important to discuss how you plan to document your role for different projects with each of the project leads/mentors so that if there are any audits, there will be no discrepancies that can jeopardize your chances.

The experience worksheet asks participants to document their work experience. It requires people to mention the name of the organizations they have worked with as well as their designations in each of these organizations.

To help fill out a project management experience section, you'll fill out worksheets that contain five sections. They include: "Initiating the Project," "Planning the Project," "Executing the Project," "Controlling the Project" and "Closing the Project."

Documenting your project experience can be challenging, but it is important to make for a professional-looking resume. Use project management-related terms like scope, stakeholders, risks, constraints, assumptions, deliverables, archives, and status updates when documenting your experience.

Case of overlapping projects

Many candidates worry about how to record the hours that they spend on each project. It might be helpful for them to list each project with the hours that were devoted to it.

When documenting project hours, if one project started in January and the other project also started in January, then you can only document your experience for one month.

After you have filled out the experience details and obtained a score of the requisite number of hours corresponding to your eligibility criteria, you will be navigated to a page where you can enter your summary. Make sure that you include aspects of all five phases of project management while writing the summary.

In order to receive your money, you must agree to the terms and conditions of the program before you can start receiving payments. The program needs five days in order to process your request. In case all the details are verified, then you will get your payment right away!

Once you submit your completed PMP, it’s all up to PMI. It just takes a few days before they approve your application and you can start using the credential.
